Blogs from a Train to Mumbai

The slipper in her left leg slipped out of her leg, she pulled at her mothers hands and her mother let her go. She went back to take her slippers but saw a piece of gems (oval shaped chocolate filled candy which we all loved when we were kids and I still love them) lying there and forgot about the slipper. Attracted by the color she picked up the gems instead and walked up to the mother.

Then she realised that she had only one slipper on. So she released her other slipper from its obligations too. But the mother was angry at her for picking up the gems from the ground and asked her to throw it off.

With heavy legs she went back to the place from where she had picked the gems and droped it. She picked up her slippers and went back to the mother. But she came back in a while just to check whether her beloved gems was still there.

This is what happens to us all the time why do we have to throw away the gems and pick up the slippers? Why cant we have what we think is good for us and not what others think is good for us? This we are taught from an early age and thats why we end up living somebody elses life and not our own. We are always bound by obligations and seldom have time for ourselves or for our feelings.
